Services

If you’re navigating a personal challenge or looking to strengthen your relationship, therapy can provide a supportive place for growth & lasting change.

Take a look at my available services to learn more about the supports available to you.

Individual Therapy

When it already seems hard to cope with things, reaching out to a stranger for support can feel like just another overwhelming task. I hope that reading through this section and learning more about what to expect will give you a better sense of how our work together might help you. I don’t want you to feel you need to manage everything alone.

What to Expect

Our time together will be shaped by your priorities and what you would like to work on. We’ll talk about what’s important to you and the changes you want to experience.

We’ll work on finding ways to help you feel like you’re making progress in how you’re managing things. We may be a good fit if you want practical, compassionate support. My primary intention for individual therapy is to give you a space where you feel understood & accepted.

The most common feedback I hear from clients is that I’m non-judgmental. People feel comfortable talking about difficult thoughts and experiences, even if they haven’t been able to speak openly about them before.

I hope to create a space where you feel accepted as we work through whatever brings you to therapy.

Couples Therapy

Relationships can face a lot of challenges. Sometimes you know exactly what happened that triggered the problems you’re facing. Sometimes it feels like you’re stuck in a negative pattern and just can’t talk to each other anymore. Couples therapy provides a safe place to identify problems, talk about issues that are contributing to broken trust, and work to restore relationships.

What to Expect:

When you begin couples therapy, we typically first meet together for one session. This gives you both a chance to talk with me about what brought you to couples therapy.

Then I’ll meet with you both individually so you can have a chance to share more about your perspective on things. This is to give you a chance to talk openly, without being interrupted or feeling you have to censor yourself. Afterwards, we’ll meet again together to discuss a plan for moving forwards.

Every couple has a unique story. The goal in couples therapy is not to assign blame or make it seem like one person caused all the relationship challenges. Rather, the intention is to work with both people to understand the patterns that are keeping you stuck, build on existing strengths, and build a stronger connection.

Approach:

I am trained in both Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT) and the Gottman Method. Each one is an evidence-based approach that emphasizes new ways to communicate & understand each other.

  • EFCT focuses on our emotional needs and creating healthier patterns of connecting to each other.

  • The Gottman Method incorporates practical strategies of ways to better manage conflict, noticing unhealthy communication patterns, and skills to improve your relationship.

My support may be helpful if you’re looking for support with issues such as:

  • Feeling disconnected from each other

  • Having the same arguments over & over again

  • Finding it difficult to communicate or feel understood

  • Recovering from an affair or breach of trust

  • Adjusting to major life changes or transitions

  • Navigating parenting, caregiving, or family transitions

  • Learning healthier ways to work through conflict

  • Feeling uncertain about the future of your relationship

  • Looking to strengthen an already healthy relationship

Christian Counselling

Sunlight shining through the tall trees of a dense forest, creating a warm glow and illuminating the forest floor.

Some people would like to connect with someone who understands the value of faith in their life. It may be because faith is a significant source of hope as you face challenges. It can also be because you’re struggling and wondering how God remains present during hard times. Sometimes, you simply feel more comfortable with someone who understands your religion.

Integrating a faith-based perspective may be helpful for you if you’re struggling with issues such as:

  • Forgiveness or reconciliation

  • Navigating uncertainty and difficult life transitions

  • Strengthening your sense of purpose and identity

  • Working through grief & loss

  • Relationship issues

  • Questions about faith or doubt in your life

Christian counselling is an available option if it’s meaningful to you. For some people, this is an essential part of their counselling experience. For others, a non-faith-based approach is a better fit. Whatever your choice, therapy will always remain guided by evidence-based approaches. You’ll receive respectful care that aligns with your needs.
